Quick Read: Baseball’s Back

ARLINGTON — The Texas Rangers came away with an opening day victory against King Felix and the Mariners yesterday. The Rangers now 1-0 sit atop the A.L. West standings. #HelloWinColumn

While it’s a little premature to start looking at the standings, the opening day victory was impressive nonetheless.

The Texas Rangers won the game 3-2 while only garnering one hit.

Due to some untimely errors for Seattle and an impressive pitching performance by Hamels and the Rangers’ bullpen, the Rangers were able to squeak out a victory for its sold out crowd.

HOW’D IT HAPPEN:

Two early home runs by Seattle’s Robinson Cano and Kyle Seager gave Seattle a 2-0 lead through five innings. But with a little Texas magic the Rangers rallied to score three runs off one hit. That hit was appropriately a “Texas Blooper” into left field off the bat of Prince Fielder.

The series continues tonight in Arlington at 7:00 CT on FSSW.
