Denton– It’s homecoming weekend for the University of North Texas. The students and fans would love nothing more than for UNT to win their first conference game during homecoming.
Thousands of students gathered around Apogee Stadium last night to light the traditional bonfire that stayed lit from about 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Tonight’s game isn’t just about earning a homecoming win for UNT. This is an elimination game. Whomever loses this game will be eliminated from bowl contention.
North Texas seemed as if they were poised to turn the tables on their previous losing ways after last season’s bowl berth and victory. But with inconsistency at the quarterback position all season, they haven’t progressed the way they seemed they would.
The season may still be salvageable for the Mean Green. They will probably not win the conference or even make a bowl game, but they could possibly string a couple wins together and build some momentum to take into next season.
Well it all starts tonight. Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m. CT. @ Apogee Stadium in Denton, Tx.
